Fused Accounting Services Ltd. is looking for a full-time Senior Bookkeeper to join our team in Stony Plain.

We're a local accounting, tax and business advisory firm working primarily with small businesses and entrepreneurs. Our clients rely on us to keep their accounting accurate, organized and up to date—and we're looking for someone who takes the same kind of pride in good bookkeeping that we do.

This is an in-office position. We're building our team here in Stony Plain and would particularly like to find someone who is looking for a long-term career opportunity closer to home rather than making the daily commute into Edmonton.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll be responsible for the day-to-day bookkeeping for a portfolio of small-business clients, including:

• Full-cycle bookkeeping using QuickBooks Online and other cloud-based accounting tools

• Bank and credit-card reconciliations

• Accounts payable and accounts receivable

• Payroll processing and remittances

• GST preparation and filing

• Month-end bookkeeping and account review

• Reviewing accounts for missing, unusual or incorrectly recorded transactions

• Maintaining complete, organized and well-documented client files

• Preparing clean files for year-end and tax preparation

• Following established Fused Accounting procedures and checklists

• Asking questions when something doesn't make sense rather than simply processing it

Who We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who already has a solid bookkeeping foundation and can confidently handle the day-to-day responsibilities of full-cycle bookkeeping.

We don't expect you to know everything. We do expect you to know when something doesn't look right, ask questions, and be willing to keep learning.

You'll probably fit well with our team if you:

• Have hands-on bookkeeping experience and a solid understanding of full-cycle bookkeeping

• Are comfortable working in QuickBooks Online

• Like organization, structure and clear processes

• Notice when numbers don't make sense and want to understand why

• Can manage your responsibilities and deadlines without constantly being reminded

• Take pride in leaving a file better than you found it

• Are comfortable asking questions when you're unsure

• Can accept feedback and use it to improve your work

• Enjoy being part of a small, collaborative team

• Are looking for somewhere you can stay, contribute, learn and grow

Relevant bookkeeping or accounting education is an asset. Practical experience and demonstrated bookkeeping ability are equally important to us.
